Hi Guys, Have just discovered how good the 10.5 is to paddle(if not a bit unstable).Am finding it great fun,but need a bit of advice re paddling into waves.
I seem to fall of the back of the wave a bit when paddling into a wave and also struggle a bit because I paddle a bit straight into a wave, but I find it a bit hard to keep on an angle as I fall of a bit if I try and paddle both sides to keep my angle(hope that makes sense)
Is this me or the board not being a real SUP?any advice would be awesome, does anyone out there also use the 10.5 for paddling.
Also am looking at paddles and they are super expensive, have found a fiberglass one a bit cheaper, any thoughts on these re carbon.
I am having so much fun on my Kona, getting out so much more with the sailing and now with paddling, can't believe there are people that stll knock them.only downside a few dents from to much use!!!

Hi there,
Have you had any more chances to SUP the 10.5 yet??
I have the 10.5 and would really like to get into SUP'ing and was going to get a dedicated SUP board as i heard the 10.5 would be too narrow!!

Hi,Yeah its pretty narrow, its definatly doable and gives you super stong stomach muscles!!!on flat water its a brezze but in waves spend a lot of time falling in,borrowed a 30inch wide board the other day and was so easy,so really if just wanting flat water paddling its fine but looking at waves I would look at getting a dedicated SUP board as I reckon you would have much more fun,Cheers

If you have tons of experience with paddles, then the 10'5 may do okay in the waves. Remember that Konas allow sailors to stay sailing in the lightest of winds. I have the 11'5 and don't paddle at all, even if the wind is 0-6 mph!
