Due to it’s unique versatility and user friendliness, it has also grown to be a serious One-Design racing class in record time. The characteristic subtle shape combines stability, maneuverability, control and excellent sub planning performance. Cruising and racing in all conditions becomes a thrill and performing classic freestyle tricks becomes a breeze. The Kona’s natural wave abilities is not only a bonus, but the most appreciated aspect among many sailors world wide… It is as demanding for advanced sailors as it is easy for “newbies” because of its adaptable design characteristics with a gently curved outline, soft rails and flat rocker. Step on it and give it what you have, and you will be surprised to see what it can do. The ideal family toy, blending all freeride, freestyle, wave and racing elements of the sport into one plug and play tool. The Kona combines the best from the past and present with a lot of input from the classic longboard surf designs with its ability to ride soft, long waves in marginal conditions. Additionally, the planning threshold has been dramatically reduced by implementing a “step tail” which shortens the waterline when powered up, and boost the board on the plane much earlier than conventional longboards.
